April 12-14 Ice Cream Social and Movie Night– Welcome back to the campground!! Help us celebrate the start of the season with ice cream! We supply the ice cream and toppings, you make a sundae your way. Best of all it’s free! Stick around after ice cream for our first movie night of the season.
Seasonal campers join us Saturday night for our Welcome Back Dinner
April 19-21 Easter- Spend your Easter Holiday with us! Jelly Bean guessing contest….the winner gets the jelly beans! Easter egg decorating ( you bring your eggs, we’ll supply the decorating supplies). Easter Egg hunt. Coffee and Donuts Sunday morning.
April 26-28 Campground Clean-Up- Help us get the campground cleaned up from Old Man Winter and ready for a new season. Help out with various chores for about 4 hours (clean up, mulching, planting, ect.) on Saturday morning, and stay Saturday night for free! We will also be serving up lunch to all of our volunteers! It’s been a long and cold winter, come out and meet up with some old friends, make some new ones, and give those muscles and joints a workout!
May 3-5 Derby De Mayo- We are bringing together Cinco De Mayo and the Kentucky Derby for one big party! Grab your sombrero and serape and join us for a celebration of the customs and culture of our great neighbors to the South. Join us for Walking Tacos, where we supply the ingredients and you create your walking tacos your way ($$$). Don’t forget to bring your best salsa for our tasting contest. After out Mexican Fiesta, pull out your fancy “Derby Hats” and stick around to watch the Kentucky Derby on our large screen TV. It’s a duo celebration you don’t want to miss!
May 10-12 Mother’s Day / Paint and Sip- Mom’s just want to go camping! And what better place than at Pioneer! Mom’s get a gift at check-in. We will be having a brunch on Saturday, and Mom’s eat for free. Surprise Mom by participating in out first ever flower-gram delivery ($$$). Create a unique Mother’s Day gift at Arts and Crafts. Moms (or Dad too!) sneak away and relax at our first Paint n’ Sip of the season ($$$). Bingo Saturday night.
May 17-19 Murder Mystery- If you do the crime, you do the time! Here at Pioneer Campground, we need you to help us solve a mysterious murder that has taken place! Do you have what it takes to participate and get away with murder?
May 24-27 Memorial Day- The pool will open Saturday morning (weather permitting); scavenger hunt for the kids; and of course, the Pioneer Speedway Challenge Matchbox Car Races. Saturday night Bingo, and DJ Bryan with trivia Sunday night. 3 Night Minimum Reservation

June 7-9 Bicycle Event – Welcome Cyclists! Join us as we host a bicycle club for a bicycle race through Worlds End State Park Local Events: Sullivan County Relay For Life, Sullivan County Fairgrounds, Forksville (6/9).
June 14-16 Father’s Day / Beer Tasting- Bring Dad to the campground to celebrate his special day! Join us Saturday afternoon for our Annual Father’s Day Horseshoe Tourney. Surprise Dad with a unique gift created at arts n’ crafts. Join us Saturday night for a beer tasting hosted by Schaylor Brewing Company, followed by a Father’s Day Dinner. June 22-24 Pirates Weekend- Arrrgh Campers….join us for a weekend of pirate adventures. Enter our cardboard boat races, participate in our treasure hunt, and get creative for our costume contest. June 28-30 Great American Campout- Celebrate the great outdoors. Hike in the woods or explore one of the local State Parks. Cook hotdogs or roast marshmallows over an open fire, or sit around the campfire and tell ghost stories. Participate in out annual mountain pie contest, blind golf cart racing, and make ice cream in a bag.
July 4-7 Independence Day / Color Run- Join us for our Independence Day Celebration. Bring your flags, bunting, and decorations to participate in our Most Patriotic Site Decorating Contest; our famous wet and wild hay wagon ride (bring your best water gun, or get one here, and be prepared to get WET!!), afternoon water games including our popular plastic tub races; Friday night bingo, and DJ Don Saturday night. July 12-14 Holiday Extravaganza- We are bringing together all the fall / winter holidays including: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve Valentines Day and St. Patrick’s Day for a weekend full of festivities. Pick your favorite holiday and load up your decorations for our site decorating contest; bring a new unwrapped toy for our annual Toys For Tots toy drive (all toys donated to Toys For Tots through the Marine Corps Reserve), Purchase a Candy Gram for your loved one, and bring a gift for Santa to deliver to your child / spouse / significant other / partner. Join us for a Thanksgiving Pot Luck, followed by a Christmas Movie. Local Events: Lycoming County Fair, Fairgrounds, Hughesville. July 19-21 Wings Wings Wings- You use them to flu, you eat them , you may even toss them. Build and decorate your own kite at arts n’ crafts, then put your kite and flying skills to the test. We will be cooking chicken wings, plain or tossed in a variety of sauces late Saturday afternoon ($$$). Place your orders early! July 26-28 Chocolate Lovers Weekend- It’s everything chocolate this weekend….tootsie roll guessing game with the winner walking away with a great chocolate prize, candy bar bingo, flashlight candy bar hunt. Bring a dessert and join in on our Death By Chocolate party complete with a chocolate fountain. August 2-4 Wine Tasting / Paint n’ Sip- It’s a weekend of wine, wine, and more wine! In the afternoon bring your favorite bottle of wine and participate in our popular Paint n’ Sip ($$$). Join us in the evening for our annual wine tasting event featuring Winterland Winery. Bring wine compliments such as cheese, crackers, sausage, ect to share. Must be 21 or older to participate in wine tasting.
August 9-11- Ice Cream Social- What could be better than a bowl of scrumptious ice cream with your favorite toppings on a hot afternoon?! We supply the ice cream and the toppings, you supply the creativity and make your own sundae.

August 16-18 Pig Roast- What can we say…the chefs at Pioneer are at it again and preparing for a fabulous celebration with live music and….what else but smoked pork! ($$$) Make your plans early to reserve a spot, this is one of our most popular weekends of the summer!! Local Events: First weekend of the Little League World Series, Williamsport. August 23-25 Wagon Ride Social- Get to know your camping neighbors in our second annual Wagon Ride Social. Sign up and participate in Pioneer’s version of meals on wheels, or a progressive dinner. Make / supply a food or drink for one of four courses: cocktail (be sure to remember the younger ones!), or bite sized appetizer, dinner or dessert. Everyone participating will ride along in our wagon as we stop at each of your campsites and enjoy all the wonderful contributions. Back by popular demand!! August 30 – Sept. 2 Labor Day Celebration- Try your luck at various carnival games, kick ball game, horseshoe tourney. Sept. 6-8 “Souper” Saturday / Craft Mania– Join us as we gather all of out craft supplies for a Saturday full of different types of craft projects. For supper, what could be better than a bowl of home made soup and bread? Keep Calm and Soup On! ($$$)
Sept. 12-15 No Planned Activities- With all the local events this weekend, there’s a ton to do! But if you prefer to stay at the campground, we always have a host of things to keep kids of all ages entertained. Cool off in the pool, play horse shoes or GaGa ball, take a relaxing walk on out hiking trail, or simply sit around the campfire and enjoy!

Sept. 20-22 Chili Cook-Off- Returning by popular demand…..campers prepare their best chili, all are welcome to sample and pick their favorite in two categories: cooked indoors, or cooked outdoors over a fire. Sept. 27-29 Oktoberfest / Cider Tasting- Join us Saturday for a cider tasting featuring Deep Roots Hard Cider. (21 or older to participate). Oct. 4-6 Halloween I- Site decorating contest, cast your vote and pick a winner! Bring along some candy and participate in Trick or Treating for the kids. Compete in one of our Best Costume categories. Bring a pumpkin to carve and display it on the patio. Of course, we will have our night time Haunted Hay Ride and Haunted House!!! (and a not so haunted one for the less adventurous!) It’s a howling good time!! Help us wind down the season with various clean up chores around the campground for about 4 hours on Saturday morning, and stay for free Saturday night. .
