03/31 – COVID-19 Update

Please be advised that Campgrounds in Pennsylvania were approved (by the Governor’s Office) as a life-sustaining essential business and may remain open if they choose to do so, however they must put in strict measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.  Based on guidance received, and for the safety and concern of all of our guests, we have decided to postpone the opening date of our camping season to a later date.   What this means, is that we will not be opening to the public on April 10th and will remain closed to the public until further notice. Please know that we are vigilantly monitoring the COVID-19 situation and will be re-evaluating weekly in an effort to open as soon as possible (targeting April 24th, but subject to change).  We appreciate your patience and understanding during this difficult time and hope you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy.  Please stay tuned to our Facebook page for future updates.  Thank you – John and Stacey

03/21/2020   COVID-19 UPDATE

We received clarity from the Pennsylvania Campground Owners Association (PCOA), who have been working with several government entities, that effective 3/20/20 Campgrounds are to be considered Closed. The clarity we received indicates that any residents at the campgrounds may stay but campgrounds cannot welcome new residents, seasonal guests, or transient guests to enter the facility.  All “non-life-sustaining business” operations are to cease for a period of at least two weeks (~4/3/20).  Failure to comply can result in fines and penalties. At this time, based on guidance and government communication, no lodging facilities including campgrounds are allowed to remain open.  For the protection of our campers and community, Pioneer Campground will be closed until further notice.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the people who have been affected by this unprecedented event and we appreciate the healthcare workers, local communities, and governments around the world who are on the front line working to contain this Coronavirus. Please know that we are vigilantly monitoring the COVID-19 situation and will advise you of any changes as soon as we become aware of them.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.  John and I look forward to seeing you all soon!  Be safe.

03/20/2020   COVID-19 UPDATE

As I’m sure you are aware, the Governor, Tom Wolf, ordered all non-life-sustaining businesses in Pennsylvania to close their physical locations as of 8pm, March 19, to slow the spread of the coronavirus.  We are currently seeking clarity and guidance from the State Office and Industry Organizations to determine whether or not Pioneer Campground needs to close or if we can remain open based on the list of businesses provided by the state (refer to attached).  As soon as we receive clarity, we will keep you all notified on what the plans are for the Campground.  As always, our primary concern is in the health and safety of our campers and public.  We will carefully monitor the situation and keep you all posted.  Please be safe.
