April 13-15 Pizza Party– Welcome back to the campground and the kick off of the 2018 season!! Help us celebrate our first Saturday night with a pizza party!
April 20-22 Family Board Game Night- If you love games, Pioneer Campground is the place to be! We will have a variety of games (or bring your favorite), gather a group of players for a fun filled evening of Yahtzee, Monopoly, or Pictionary to name a few. Seasonal Campers join us Saturday night for our welcome back dinner!
April 27-29 Campground Clean-Up- Help us get the campground cleaned up from Old Man Winter and ready for a new season. Help out with various chores for about 4 hours (clean up, mulching, planting, ect.) on Saturday morning, and stay Saturday night for free! We will also be serving up lunch to all of our volunteers! It’s been a long and cold winter, come out and meet up with some old friends, make some new ones, and give those muscles and joints a workout!
May 4-6 Cinco De Derby- We are bringing together Cinco De Mayo and the Kentucky Derby for one big party! Grab your sombrero and serape and join us for a celebration of the customs and culture of our great neighbors to the South. Join us for Tacos, where we supply the ingredients and you create your tacos your way ($$$). Don’t forget to bring your best salsa for our tasting contest. After out Mexican Fiesta, pull out your fancy “Derby Hats” and stick around to watch the Kentucky Derby on our large screen TV. It’s a duo celebration you don’t want to miss!
May 11-13 Mother’s Day- Mom’s just want to go camping! And what better place than at Pioneer! Mom’s get a gift at check-in. We will be having a brunch on Saturday, and Mom’s eat for free. Kids will get to surprise Mom with a unique Mother’s Day gift they make themselves. We will be transferring a photo on to a piece of wood or a smooth rock (no worries, we will take the photo) created during arts and crafts. Bingo Saturday night.
May 18-20 “Beat the Odds” Vegas Style Weekend- Back by popular demand, bring your lucky charm and join us for a Casino Night. Try out Pioneer style casino games including Blackjack, Texas Hold ‘Um, Roulette and more!
May 25-28 Memorial Day- The pool will open Saturday morning (weather permitting); scavenger hunt for the kids; and of course, the Pioneer Speedway Challenge Matchbox Car Races with out New and Improved Track!! Saturday night Bingo, and a DJ Sunday night. Come out Saturday morning and watch Heath Bender of Cedar Designs, an Internationally acclaimed, award winning local chainsaw carving artist in action turning logs into fabulous creations. 3 Night Minimum Reservation
June 1-3 Ice Cream Social- I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!!! We supply the ice cream and toppings, you supply the creativity and make your sundae your way, and best of all….. it’s free!! Flashlight candy hunt for the kids after dark. June 8-10 Wine Tasting / Paint and Sip- It’s a weekend of wine, wine….and more wine! On Saturday afternoon, bring your favorite bottle of wine and participate in our first ever Paint n’ Sip, led by a local instructor ($$$). Join us Saturday evening or annual wine tasting event featuring, by popular demand, Purple Cow Winery. Bring up your favorite wine compliments such as cheese, crackers, sausage, ect. to share, and best of all it’s free! Must be 21 or older to participate. June 15-17 Father’s Day / Campground Tag Sale- Bring Dad to the campground to celebrate his special day! Lunch on Saturday, Dads eat for free. Join us Saturday afternoon for our Annual Father’s Day Horseshoe Tourney. Kids- enter our new and improved Contractors Build Off and show how creative you can be ($$$). Past creations have been amazing!!! Bingo Saturday night. Bring a supply of hand crafted items, yard sale items, or antiques to display and sell on Saturday. June 22-24 Great American Campout- Celebrate the great Outdoors. Take a hike in the woods on our hiking trail here at the campground, or maybe the Falls Trail at Ricketts Glen, where you’ll see 22 waterfalls in 7 miles. Cook hot dogs and s’mores over an open fire, and tell ghost stories after dark. Participate in our annual Mountain Pie contest, make ice cream in a bag, and enjoy an outdoor movie on Saturday night (weather permitting). June 29-July 1 Independence Day I- Join us for part 1 of our 2 part Independence Day Celebration. Bring your flags, bunting, and decorations to participate in our Most Patriotic Site Decorating Contest. We will have a flag scavenger hunt, our famous wet and wild hay wagon ride (bring your best water gun, or get one here, and be prepared to get WET!!), water games in the afternoon including our plastic tub races! Saturday night Bingo.
July 6-8 Independence Day II- Join us for part 2 of our Independence Day Celebration. Bring your flags, bunting, and decorations to participate in our Most Patriotic Site Decorating Contest. We will have a flag scavenger hunt, our famous wet and wild hay wagon ride (bring your best water gun, or get one here, and be prepared to get WET!!). July 13-15 Wings Wings Wings- You use them to fly, you eat them, you may even toss them. Build your own kite at arts n’ crafts and put your kite flying skills to the test on the ball field. July 20-22 Christmas In July- Load up your holiday decorations and head to the campground for our annual site decorating contest; bring a funny or repurposed gift for our first ever Re-Gift exchange. Santa will be visiting with some goodies for the kids. Bring a gift for Santa to deliver to your child / spouse / significant other or partner. July 27-29 Chocolate Lovers Weekend- It’s everything chocolate this weekend….tootsie roll guessing game with the winner walking away with a great chocolate prize, candy bar bingo, flashlight candy bar hunt. Bring a dessert and join in on our Death By Chocolate party complete with a chocolate fountain. Participate in our second Paint n’ Sip of the season ($$$). August 3-5 First Responders Weekend- Come check out Fire and other emergency equipment on display by local fire companies from throughout Sullivan County. Watch as participants from various companies compete in water battles, egg drop, and other cool games. When the sun goes down, come watch an outdoor movie and snack on some popcorn.
August 10-12 Ice Cream Social- What could be better than a bowl of scrumptious ice cream with your favorite toppings on a hot afternoon?! We supply the ice cream and the toppings, you supply the creativity and make your own sundae.

August 17-19 Pig Roast- What can we say…the chefs at Pioneer are at it again and preparing for a fabulous celebration with live music and….what else but smoked pork! ($$$) Make your plans early to reserve a spot, this is one of our most popular weekends of the summer!! Local Events: First weekend of the Little League World Series, Williamsport. August 24-26 Wagon Ride Social- Get to know your camping neighbors in our first ever Wagon Ride Social. Sign up and participate in Pioneer’s version of meals on wheels, or a progressive dinner. Make / supply a food or drink for one of four courses: cocktail (be sure to remember the younger ones!), or bite sized appetizer, dinner or dessert. Everyone participating will ride along in our wagon as we stop at each of your campsites and enjoy all the wonderful contributions. Sept. 7-9 Cider Tasting and “Beat the Odds” Weekend- Join us Saturday for a cider tasting featuring Deep Roots Hard Cider, followed by a finger foods potluck dinner. Grab your lucky charm and join us for our second Casino Night of the season. Try out our Pioneer Style casino games including Blackjack, Texas Hold Em, Roulette and more!

Sept. 21-23 Chili Cook-Off- Returning by popular demand…..campers prepare their best chili, all are welcome to sample and pick their favorite in two categories: cooked indoors, or cooked over a fire. Sept. 28-30 Halloween I- Site decorating contest, cast your vote and pick a winner! Bring along some candy and participate in Trick or Treating for the kids. Compete in one of our Best Costume categories. Bring a pumpkin to carve and display it on the patio. Of course, we will have our night time Haunted Hay Ride!!! Oct. 19-21 Oktoberfest / Fall Cleanup- This is the last weekend of planned activities for the season. Help us wind down the season with various clean up chores around the campground for about 4 hours on Saturday morning, and stay for free Saturday night. Join us Saturday night for an Oktoberfest celebration. Bring your favorite Oktoberfest side dish and beer and join us for a pot luck dinner / beer swap.
